In the event of the 8th amendment being repealed, the Irish Government wants our law to go even further than the UK's abortion law.
The law in the UK does not allow abortion 'without restriction' at any point in pregnancy. Yet this is what our Government is proposing in the first months of pregnancy. Despite the apparently 'restricted' nature of the British law, it still results in almost 200,000 abortions per annum meaning one pregnancy in every five is aborted, a terrible total. Very few people are familiar with these facts, not even convinced pro-lifers in many cases.
