Your support for Aleppo makes the difference!

Dear friend,

on August 15th all Christians celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, patron saint of the cathedral and protector of all Christian people in Aleppo.

It was an opportunity for the catholic community in Aleppo and its Archbishop to give thanks for the blessings that they received during the last seven hard years, full of challenges and desolation.

Archbishop Jeanbart wrote:

“ We thank the Virgin Mary for Her presence by our side and we remember all our friends and supporters who chose to help us in our efforts with perseverance.  The interest shown in Christian people in Aleppo supported us in these last years. Your generosity has been helpful and allowed us to encourage people in our community to be strong and stay in their own country. I must say that we have always appreciated the kindness you have shown with respect and generosity.”

So thank you all for your generosity, your constancy and discretion.

Thank you for your commitment to support our initiatives that help Christian community in Aleppo. International mass media have moved their attention away from this situation so now everybody’s help is more important than ever.

In these last two years 22 aid projects were completed thanks to our generosity. We will keep you informed as soon as possible. 

Our dear friend Archbishop Jeanbart wrote us:

“We have made great efforts to rebuild the Cathedral and the Bishop’s palace. Works are in progress in the neighborhoods to prepare places for priests and for meetings; we hope that buildings will be ready next year. This would be a positive and encouraging signal on the future of the Church in the city. A team of craftsmen and workers are involved in the restoration of the Cathedral.”

All these works are possible thanks to you, your generosity and your prayers.
